About Sake Sommelier Association
Tsurunoe Brewery’s renowned sake, Aizu Chūjō, was first introduced in 1977, named after the historic rank of Aizu’s former feudal lord, Lord Hoshina. Established in 1794 in Aizuwakamatsu, Fukushima, the brewery boasts over 230 years of history. Since October 2021, the seventh-generation brewer Yuri Hayashi, alongside her husband and company president Hirotoshi Mukai, has continued its legacy. The brewery remains committed to traditional handcrafting, using high-quality Aizu rice and water, with local Okuaizu brewers shaping each batch.
